Brakes
It goes without saying that your vehicle must have a properly functioning braking system. There are many tell-tale signs of problems including a grinding noise when you apply the brakes or maybe pulling to the left or right. The grinding probably indicates that the brake pads are excessively worn and need replacing along with the damaged brake discs. Pulling to the left or right could indicate a sticking or seized mechanical or hydraulic component.
A spongy feeling when pressing the pedal could indicate air in the hydraulic system. A pulsating sensation could indicate warped or damaged discs. It could simply be the brake warning light on the instrument panel. In addtion, the handbrake travel should not be excessive – this may lead to an inability to park safely.
In any case, it is important to have your braking system checked regularly. We can carry out a safety check and any necessary repairs. If you suspect something is wrong with your braking system or you want it checked, contact us right away.
